CBD seems to be in everything these days from food and oils to vape and lotions. We’ve even seen it in pet shampoo and pedicure treatments! It’s extremely confusing to know which CBD product is best for any given issue and the plethora of CBD products on the market are not making it any easier to figure out which ones is best for you.
Here we will do our best to give you a quick overview into the primary CBD product types and how people are using them. It is important for us to state that we are not medical professionals and the following is not medical advice. We recommend speaking with your health and/or medical professionals before taking any new supplement or product such as CBD. However, if you want to learn about CBD from those who have been working with it for years, keep reading. 🙂
The first and most common products on the market today are CBD tinctures where CBD is suspended in a carrier liquid for oral ingestion. The most common carrier liquid is MCT oil (multi-chain triglyceride) while hemp seed oil, and water may also be used. Which type of carrier liquid is used is based on a few factors such as holistic approach, type of CBD used, and flavor.
The tincture liquid is extracted using a dropper and then placed under the tongue for at least 60 seconds. This is called the sublingual method and when the liquid is absorbed this way, the lingual gland under the tongue aids in delivering the liquid throughout the entire body.
CBD tinctures are most commonly used by people for general health & wellness and maintenance of persistent, ongoing issues such as anxiety, stress, arthritis, and chronic pain. We often recommend a tincture as the primary way to take CBD for most people who are deficient in cannabinoids. Whether you are dealing with an ongoing issue or want to maintain a healthy endocannabinoid system, we will be happy to discuss different tincture options such as strength and different types of CBD to help you find the right one.
Topicals is a broad term that includes lotions, salves, balms, roll-ons, and generally any product that is applied directly to the skin. The delivery method and substance type in a topical is important for different uses as people will use CBD topicals for many different reasons including, but not limited to: joint pain, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, eczema, healing from cuts and burns, and nerve pain.
CBD salves and CBD balms are most commonly used for on-the-spot application of CBD to troublesome joints, nerves, and/or muscles. They are commonly made with cocoa butter, shea butter, almond butter, and/or beeswax as the primary ingredient. Our salves and balms are all made with 100% all natural ingredients without any chemicals or harmful ingredients. Many topicals will contain essential oils and other holistic ingredients that have been traditionally used for pain and inflammation at the surface.
Additional ingredients in CBD topicals are important to consider as they may have an effect as well. We have a wide selection of samples in our store for you to try and learn about the differences between them. From affordably priced to premium products, we have something for everyone!
